AGR Consultancy Doubles Manpower in the Falklands
05.01.2012
AGR’s Aberdeen-based consultancy division has doubled its manpower in the Falklands to supply a team to its Well Management division to work on the Leiv Eiriksson.
This contract cements AGR’s position as the leading oil services firm in the region.
In January AGR supply a total of over 50 consultants to the Falklands.
AGR has spent the last six months recruiting a high calibre team for the rig after a successful two years of supplying personnel for it’s well management division, which was contracted by Desire Petroleum and Rockhopper Exploration Plc to undertake a six well drilling campaign in 2009.
The new team will be in place both on and offshore in the Falklands and in support roles in Aberdeen from next month (January).
Kirsty Crook, Consultancy Manager, said: “We’ve worked hard to find the right people for this project, knowing the challenges of working in such a remote, harsh environment.
“Working alongside our Well Management division we have been very successful in the Falklands. As our work on Rockhopper and Desire’s campaigns comes to an end, we are delighted our success has led to a continuation of drilling activity support on the Leiv Eiriksson.
“We can attribute a large part of our success working in the Falklands to our ability to find and recruit the right people for our clients needs. We have recruited a multi-discipline team; including engineers, operations, materials, HSE and supervisors.”
AGR will have two teams working in the Falklands for at least a month.
AGR’s consultancy team is based at the AGR’s Union Plaza offices alongside teams working in well management, reservoir management, facilities solutions and training.
AGR is one of the world’s leading oil services and technology firms.
