Corrosion Under Insulation Inspection Method (CUIIM)
SOLV CUIIM is based on a methodical and knowledge database with detailed recording of conditions consisting of corrosion under insulation. The data is obtained from a portable scanning tool, which can acquire information from piping systems that are insulated or non-insulated.
When using defined plans and programs you can quickly identify changes in your piping structure. This enables you quickly improve your maintenance. It also optimises the maintenance operations with regards to cost, safety and quality.

RAPID PIPING ASSESMENT
SOLV CUIIM is a very cost efficient tool that rapidly assess the condition of your process piping. It does not sacrifice the integrity of your insulation. Common types of insulation and insulation jacketing, such as stainless steel, aluminum and PVC, does not hinder SOLV’s ability to detect corrosion in a pipe.
You don’t need to remove any insulation. SOLV CUIIM is capable of monitoring all known materials of construction used in pipe fabrication. These include carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, plastic, and PVC. Indications that can be detected with the SOLV CUIIM include:
- Internal Corrosion
- External Corrosion
- Weld Line Identification
- Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ) Corrosion
- Blockage and Fouling
- Changes in Pipe Schedule
- Determination of Product Level in Piping
- Wet Insulation
- Water or Ice in The Insulation
