Well management
The Well Management division of AGR Petroleum Services is the largest and most respected independent well management group in the world. The Well Management division brings together the skills and reputations of some of the world’s leading well management operators – the former Drilling Production Technology of Norway, the former Peak Group of the UK, the former Upstream Petroleum of Australia and the former F.J Brown & Associates in the U.S. – we can plan and execute drilling, testing, completion and subsea programmes anywhere in the world.
We think and operate just like the drilling department of a major oil corporation. We have successfully operated in every type of drilling environment including onshore, shallow water, deep water, and extended-reach as well as high pressure/high temperature zones in all of the major oil provinces. These operations have ranged from single string exploration wells through to multi-well development drilling projects.
So far since 2000, AGR Petroleum Services has operated 399 wells for 87 clients in 18 countries.
We are particularly suited to planning and executing drilling programmes for the smaller oil companies lacking such resources themselves. AGR Petroleum Services has been instrumental in establishing new companies as operators in both the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea. We have acted as the outsourced drilling department for more than 60 small oil companies and have also managed wells on behalf of larger companies that have made the strategic decision to use an experienced outsourced operator to gain a competitive edge in a resource-constrained market.
At the heart of AGR Petroleum Services well construction process is an unrelenting commitment to thorough planning and a focus on performance. AGR Petroleum Services is recognised as the industry leader in risk and performance management systems for well construction having created and developed the P1™ probability planning tool.
We have also established ourselves as the leading operator of multi-well, multi-client rig campaigns which we have pioneered in Europe and Asia. Building on the strength of relationships with rig owners and major oil companies, we have established these innovative campaigns for small and medium sized independent oil companies which, individually, would have found extreme difficulty in securing rigs for single well slots. In 2008 AGR Petroleum Services operated at least six of these rig campaigns involving the drilling of 78 wells worldwide. These campaigns - created, planned and executed by AGR Petroleum Services - are the largest of their kind ever undertaken by an independent well management company.
In 2007 we drilled 57 wells on behalf of a plethora of independent oil and gas exploration and production companies, using some of the industry’s leading drilling rigs
In 2008 we drilled more than 70 wells in Norway, UK, Tunisia, West Africa and Australia. These wells were drilled using the following rigs (link to table)
