How we work

AGR Petroleum Services Well Management is independent. We are not allied to any rig contractor or service company and we will always work to achieve the best value for our clients. As one of the world’s largest purchasers of services and equipment we are able to command outstanding service and secure the most competitive prices for our clients.

We function just like the drilling department of a major oil company. Our project teams work under the direction of our management team, following our industry-leading project management and well construction processes. Our engineers are trained and mentored under our staff development system. We use our own engineering software and can call on the knowledge, resources, relationships and negotiating power of the global AGR Petroleum Services organisation that is committed to well construction performance.

We always work in close partnership with our clients. Project teams are chosen on the basis of technical ability, geographical experience and personality to ensure that the right team is in place to achieve all of the project's objectives. One advantage of our system is that the team size can be varied depending on the evolving needs of the project. The team can be drawn entirely from AGR Petroleum Services or from both AGR Petroleum Services and the client. Additional day-rate contractors can be provided by AGR Petroleum Services Consultancy Services. Consultants are highly skilled, known to us and experienced in working to our exacting standards. Planning, support and administration work is mostly performed in  AGR Petroleum Services offices or in an operations base established for the project.

We have the financial and contracting capability to hold, administer and pay contracts on behalf of clients. The largest contract held to date is a three-year rig contract in Norway. And, vitally, we have the ability and credibility to undertake all permitting on behalf of our clients and to obtain approval to drill from the relevant authorities. These include environmental, oil spill and safety permitting.
