Well Engineering Services
We provide specialist project engineering consultancy services related to well construction activities. Drawing on our international experience, teams of experienced, specialist engineers can provide independent assessment and review of well construction plans and procedures, as well as conduct research into new technology areas for big and small clients.
Such informed advice might include a scoping study for a project. We also provide assessments of competitive products and third party reviews of plans and proposals.
For example:
- In Australasia an independent assessment of a leading operator’s plan to refurbish and prepare a platform rig for a drilling campaign was carried out. We found that a number of items could be deleted or modified without undue risk to the campaign, saving the operator millions of dollars in unnecessary expenditure, reducing the exposure to personnel safety, and easing the overall project time constraints. We were able to complete this independent review on time and well under budget.
- In the UK we undertook a feasibility study for drilling an infill well on a producing field on behalf of one of the partners. The partner was able to use the results of this study to persuade the operator to drill the infill well resulting in additional production from a lower zone.
- In onshore Senegal we performed a scoping study to help the operator understand drilling issues, logistics and costs for potential drilling operations in two years time.
