How we work
AGR Well Management is independent. We are not allied to any rig contractor or service company and will always work to achieve the best value for our clients. We are one of the world’s largest purchasers of services and equipment and we obtain outstanding service and the most competitive prices for our clients.
AGR Well Management functions just like the drilling department of a major oil company. Our project teams work under the direction of our management team; they follow our project management and well construction process, and our engineers are trained and mentored under our staff development system. We use our own engineering software and can call on the knowledge, resources, relationships and negotiating power of a global organization that is committed to well construction performance. AGR Well Management does not provide day-rate contractors; this service is provided by AGR Consultancy Services.
AGR always works in close partnership with our clients. Project teams are chosen on the basis of technical ability, geographical experience and personality to ensure that the right team is in place to achieve all the project's objectives. Team size can be flexed up or down depending on the evolving needs of the project. The team can be entirely AGR staff or a mixture of AGR and the client. Work is mostly performed in AGR’s offices or in an operations base established for the project.
AGR has the financial and contracting capability to hold, administer and pay contracts on behalf of its clients. The largest contract held to date is a three-year rig contract in Norway.
AGR has the ability and credibility to undertake all permitting on behalf of our clients and to obtain approval to drill from the relevant authorities. These include environmental, oil spill and safety permitting.
