AGR's TRACS Training bespoke Open Air courses take the participants out to the field to put the theory into practice.

The first was a course held in Wales (run for the first time) in Production Geoscience. TRACS Training Director and Tutor, Mark Bentley, said: “This was a new course in a stunning location so we were delighted to be welcomed to South West Wales by a week of unbroken sunshine.  An unusual venue for the oil industry as it’s off the beaten track but it’s arguably the best location in the UK for sheer variety of reservoir types in one location – carbonates, clastics and complex structures all within 30 minutes of each other.  Fabulous location for geoscience training.”

The second was held in Provence, France on Carbonate reservoir modelling with tutor Richard Oxlade.

Mark said: “This particular course is from series we have tailor-made for a client but  which is also now offered as an open industry event. Fractured carbonate reservoirs have their own nuances and The Luberon in Provence provides a perfect natural laboratory for us to investigate them.

“The local hill village of Gordes is also a great place for a morning stretch – this time with some of the course delegates.”
