AGR, which last year celebrated its 500th well project around the world, has sent its biggest team yet to Africa to mark this milestone, with representatives from its Well Management, Reservoir Management, Training, Logistics, Consultancy and Software divisions in attendance.

AGR has worked in all major hydrocarbon areas across the Continent, including Egypt, Tunisia, Mauritania, Senegal, Republic of Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Tanzania. The company has also managed deepwater drilling operations in the Mediterranean and is currently drilling offshore Morocco and Benin.

Nick Chilcott, AGR’s Vice President Corporate Business Development, is in Cape Town: “Africa Oil Week is among our favourite events of the year, giving us the chance to meet and network with existing and potential clients in this expanding market.”

“And this year is particularly relevant as AGR can celebrate the milestone not only of 500 wells globally, but also 40 wells all over the African continent, assisting clients with well construction, engineering planning, rig access and operations execution to deliver safe and cost-efficient projects.”

“Clients can also benefit from streamlined access to AGR’s in-house Reservoir Management resources providing expertise in areas such as geomechanics and completions design.”

2014 has been the strongest yet in Africa for AGR’s Reservoir Management team, thanks in part to the rise in the number of oil companies divesting their fields. From banks and investment groups to small and medium operators, both international and local, the team has seen a range of clients requesting A&D services. Likewise, its Field Development Studies team has been involved in a broad spectrum of projects, including concept screening studies and development planning support. The Geomechanics Department has been active in supporting both exploration and development studies.

Mike Wynne, Vice President Reservoir Management, said: “The last twelve months have seen significant part of AGR’s activity focussed in the North and West of Africa where we continue to build on our experience of deep water exploration and brown field developments, including extensive knowledge of gas supply projects to Domgas and LNG in Nigeria. As 2015 fast approaches, AGR is looking forward to building on its proven track record in the wider continent, supporting both existing and new clients alike.”
