Book from AGR TRACS Training Considered Ideal for Graduates

book
An educational book written by geologists and engineers from Aberdeen-based AGR TRACS Training has been translated into Portuguese for the fast growing Brazilian energy market.

Considered one of the leading publications for graduates entering the oil and gas sector, “Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production” by Frank Jahn , Mark Cook and Mark Graham is now available in Portuguese as well as English and Arabic.

Introdução à Exploração e Produção de Hidrocarbonetos – Adaptação da 2ª Edição is co-authored by Doneivan Ferreira, who localised the text with a chapter on the local commercial environment and taxation system.

Mark Cook, co-author and development manager at AGR TRACs Training, said: “We deliver courses all over the world and through this publication AGR TRACS Training is now developing a profile in Brazil. It’s great to work with Elsevier to launch the book into such a key market.

“The demand for graduate engineers and geoscientists in Brazil over the next decade is going to be enormous and our book, which is widely used by organisations including Shell, BP and ADNOC to support graduate programmes, will hopefully help many young professionals to develop their skills.”

The hardback was first published in the Netherlands in 1998 by Elsevier as part of its Developments in Petroleum Science series, followed by an updated second edition in 2008. Almost 20,000 copies have sold so far.

Mark Bentley, training director at AGR TRACS Training, said: “The popularity of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production, which is based on training materials the authors developed for AGR TRACS Training courses, speaks volumes for the standard of our trainers. We also have another published author in our team. Senior Petroleum Engineer Jonathan Bellarby’s “Well Completion Design” is also available from Elsevier.”

AGR TRACS Training delivers over 150 tailored training courses a year at all levels across five continents. To find out more visit http://www.agr.com/services/agr-tracs-training.
