AGR has extensive international experience in managing well construction operations, from stand-alone exploration wells through to multi-well development campaigns. AGR is seeking for a Drilling Superintendent in Stavanger to provide leadership, effective direction, reporting and co-ordination for all activities related to the AGR engineering process; to coordinate and perform engineering studies for external clients.

Tasks:
  • Ensure that all personnel involved in the drilling operations project are competent and have received the necessary training to carry out their jobs effectively.
  • Apply to the Management System throughout the duration of the drilling operations and ensure that relevant regulations and guidelines are adhered to.
  • Monitor daily drilling information relative to the drilling programme and issue instructions to the Drilling/Well Supervisor as required.
  • Approve the requirements for personnel, materials and technical support required for the offshore operations.
  • Liaise with contractors and service company representatives for planning of and instructions about the work and solving of drilling problems.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor and service companies to ensure that they are operating cost-efficient, according to procedures/programs and to the necessary quality standards.
  • Ensure that all relevant incidents and accidents are investigated and actions concluded with recommendations implemented in accordance with appropriate procedures, ref./2/.
  • To liaise with other personnel in Operator, Authorities and other operating companies.
  • To establish and train a suitable emergency organisation at the drilling operations base office, and ensure that the required contacts in the emergency organisations are established.
  • To ensure that experience feedback is included during operations in the appropriate well programmes, procedures and instructions and that all information is accurately distributed throughout the drilling team.
  • Initiate relevant audits and follow up on such.

Job specific requirements
Prior to drilling operations, the primary role of the Drilling Superintendent is to define, initiate, specify and monitor all activities related to the generation of a comprehensive drilling project. The Drilling Superintendent will further concentrate on the drilling programme, operational procedures and associated HSEQ documents. During drilling operations the Drilling Superintendent provides proactive daily management of and supervision on the execution of the drilling operations in accordance with the Drilling programme. In addition he has specific responsibilities for communicating information between the drilling unit and the onshore organisation.
