AGR is an independent consultancy delivering drilling project management, well engineering and reservoir management as well as technical manpower and software solutions to the entire upstream life cycle. The company has managed over 500 well projects in six continents and delivered numerous reservoir studies and asset evaluations in all global hydrocarbon basins.

Our Norwegian Reservoir Management team comprises 25 professionals covering the disciplines of reservoir and petroleum engineering, geophysics, geology, petrophysics, well completions and production engineering, facilities engineering and petroleum economics. The team has on average of 20 years industry experience and an impressive track record from exploration, development and production projects as well as evaluations and audits in Norway.

We are seeking a Petrophysicist to join our team in the Oslo office.

Main Responsibilities

The primary role will focus on the Petrophysical evaluations within the integrated teams of subsurface professionals for the in-house G&G, reservoir and field development studies. Responsibility will be petrophysical studies and analyses of integrating logging tool responses, rock, fluid and production data for formation evaluation.

In addition to the field and reservoir studies, AGR is heavily involved in reserves certifications and asset valuations. These teams are formed from all of the sub-surface disciplines, and the successful candidate would participate in these activities.

AGR people are generally individuals who would like to move from a constrained corporate environment to role where they are given the freedom to express their ideas and develop and nurture client relationships.

AGR has developed a series of training courses which are delivered in-house for clients. There is an opportunity for the candidate to learn and deliver some of these courses, but this is not a pre-requisite for the position.
Qualification requirements
  • M.Sc. Petroleum Engineering or equivalent in the sciences
  • Minimum of ten years of experience working with an operator or service company in the oil and gas sector. However, we will also consider less experienced candidates
  • Strong petrophysical knowledge and analytical/modelling skills. Experience in using any industry standard software for the purpose
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of and willing to learn Norwegian if not native
