AGR delivers logistics for drilling project in Equatorial Guinea

AGR supplies equipment from 11 countries and manages import and export to deliver an exploration well off the South-West coast of Bioko Island.

AGR were contracted to deliver a new exploration well in Equatorial Guinea. The project presented complex logistical challenges to coordinate equipment supply from 11 countries, and manage import and export. The AGR logistics team delivered, mobilising all equipment and personnel so the well could be drilled within time and  budget.

The Oil and Gas service sector in Equatorial Guinea is not as established as other West African countries and therefore AGR had to pull services and equipment from other regions around the globe to service the project requirements. Equipment was sourced and shipped from the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Ghana, Cameroon, Angola, South Africa, Ivory Coast and even China.

  • The AGR team researched and identified the various customs import / export laws for each country and managed the interface with Equatorial Guinea customs
  • Yard and quayside supporting logistics services in Malabo and Luba were secured and multiple vessels for shipping equipment from multiple points of origin were sourced and contracted
  • A helicopter sharing agreement with other Oil & Gas operators in Equatorial Guinea was put in place
  • AGR worked with equipment suppliers to establish shipping requirements and timeframes
  • AGR managed all customs and exoneration issues for import/export at Luba free port
  • The AGR team managed all visa applications, letters of introduction and transport for project personnel
  • AGR performed all day-to-day helicopter and vessel logistics operations to support the rig
  • AGR managed operational safety in the supply base and yard
  • AGR handled the return of goods during the de-mobilisation.
