AGR delivers 8 production wells on Volve ahead of budget

AGR delivered increased value to the Volve field Operator, Statoil, by completing the drilling 85 days ahead of budget and no LTI or serious spills recorded.
AGR was assigned by Statoil to deliver Well Management services for the second drilling campaign on the Volve field. This was the first time Statoil used an independent Well Management company. The operation was conducted using jack-up Maersk Inspirer.

  • Postponed start up of the operations due to late equipment deliveries
  • Drilling unit cold-stacked for three years before kick off of operations
  • ARIS introduced as new governing documentation across entire Statoil organisation
  • Simultaneous operations - drilling and production with limited space for personnel and equipment
  • Production culture vs drilling culture
  • Short deadlines and dynamic planning based on the outcome of the pilot wells

  • Eight wells drilled in 390 days - 85 days ahead of budget in comparison with the first drilling campaign
  • All eight wells delivered with continuous excellent performance
  • Two slot recoveries and four well completions successfully performed
  • Increased oil production by +/- 17,000 BOPD, 5 mio BOE in total
  • Internally "Rig of the Month": from cold to 3rd in eight months
  • Excellent cooperation between Statoil's PeTek and AGR's Well Management teams
  • No LTI or serious spills
