AGR delivering technical training to OMV Petrom

Published: 30.05.17

Our Training business, TRACS Training, provides a variety of technical courses to Romanian oil & gas group, OMV Petrom, part of the OMV Group.

The disciplines that will be covered include applied reservoir engineering, petroleum risk & decision analysis, production engineering, well test design and analysis, and PVT analysis.
“We are delighted to be working with OMV Petrom on this programme, following on from the many man weeks of training delivered by AGR to the OMV ‘Eagles’ graduate programme. We’re very happy to be involved - our philosophy is to deliver tailored products, built on familiarity with, and understanding of, the technical communities involved,” said Mark Bentley (pictured), Director of AGR’s TRACS Training, commenting on the recent award.

Established in 1992 and based in Aberdeen, AGR’s TRACS Training is currently celebrating its 25-year anniversary, having trained over 30,000 oil & gas professionals in more than 45 countries around the world.
Our technical and commercial courses divided into eight Series are particularly well-known for their discursive, interactive and experiential nature; the fact that they are all comprehensively tailored for the needs of each of our client – using client case studies and data where possible; and are run by course tutors that include many of the industry’s leading experts, such as SPE and EAGE Distinguished Lecturers and authors of industry practitioner handbooks.
Our clients benefit from TRACS Training being the only training provider in the oil & gas sector to have developed blended learning packages that combine e-learning with face-to-face events. AGR also has strong links with academia and, in 2015, announced a partnership with the University of Aberdeen to support the delivery of the university’s Petroleum Engineering Master’s programme. In addition, our Training tutors are delivering technical and commercial courses for students from the Natural Environment Research Council Centre for Doctoral Training in Oil and Gas (NERC CDT) and act as appointed member of the Advisory Board to the Foundation CMG Chair programme at the Institute of Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University.
