Published: 16.04.13

Mahmood Akbar, Advisor Reservoir Engineering at AGR will hold a presentation at the upcoming seminar in Oslo covering the main aspects of reserve reporting and valuation of E&P companies.

The seminar, taking place on May 23, is jointly organised by Oslo section of SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers), Oslo Stock Exchange and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The main purpose of the seminar is to give quick insight into E&P company’s main reserve classification structure, introduce challenges of investment decisions and third party verification process.

The audience is expected to include E&P managements, financial analysts and investors, engineers and professionals working daily with the area.

AGR representative Mahmood Akbar will concentrate his presentation on the importance of correct classification of reserves and resources. Additionally, the presentation will give insight into Petroleum Resources Management System and introduce the framework of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s guidelines.

Mr. Akbar has more than 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry. His professional career includes working on various reserve valuation and reserves' certification assignments. Mr. Akbar is also an acknowledged trainer within the AGR TRACS Training professional course series which are tailor-made to our client’s specific requirements within the upstream oil and gas.

AGR has been invited to hold the presentation because of the company’s long term experience in performing reserves auditson behalf of national and international oil companies, government organisations and banks. These have been used to support listings on stock exchanges, to raise private equity funds, to support acquisition and disposition and to review operator performance. AGR has also supported operators and regulatory bodies in reviewing and designing reserve reporting guidelines and processes. Our multi-disciplinary approach ensures that all technical and commercial aspects of the reserves and resources are fully considered within the audit and conveyed to the clients to increase their project value.

More information about the seminar can be found on PricewaterhouseCooper’s web page and registration can be completed here.
