The World Oil Awards recognise the innovations and innovators in the global upstream oil industry with AGR competing against the likes of Baker Hughes and Halliburton for the notable accolade.
Petter Mathisen, VP of AGR’s Software Solutions division, said: “This achievement is recognition of the significant strides that our team have accomplished over the past three years to develop iQˣ™ - designed to simplify the planning and execution of wells. Based on experience gained from over 500 well projects, AGR is well placed to develop software, addressing the gaps in the market for increasing operational efficiencies.
“This marks the second nomination of the season for iQˣ™ after the software recently made it through to the finals of the ONS (Offshore Northern Seas) 2014 Innovation Awards
iQˣ™ software is currently set up for visual offset analysis, experience sharing and operations support covering an AGR-designed database with an overview of historic well data and experience from more than 6,000 wells drilled on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The software tool was initiated by two AGR senior drilling engineers and can be conveniently built into the client’s business, enabling users to structure and organise internal experience transfer, knowledge sharing and data classification.
This year's winners will be announced at a black-tie gala on 16th October at The Houstonian Hotel in Houston.
World Oil is a well-respected international magazine with over 40,000 paid-for subscriptions and a website renowned for its technical content, providing insight into the industry’s innovations and technologies.
