The benefits that AGR’s iQx software
delivers during well planning activity will be highlighted at the SPE Russian Petroleum Technology
conference in Moscow, this week.
VP Petter Mathisen from AGR’s software team has been invited to present a paper looking at how data management and gathering has evolved since oil was first discovered on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
The paper has been developed in collaboration with iQx's user and client, LUKOIL Overseas North Shelf
. It will discuss how the use of data management software improves the quality of data storage as well as analysis during the planning process.
When planning a new well, obtaining high quality reference data from comparable well projects in the vicinity is critical. The presentation will highlight how the modern well delivery process can be improved and streamlined using data management software – enabling operations teams to create value from volume.
AGR’s iQx software
provides access to data from more than 6,000 wells drilled on the NCS. All of the software’s modules visualise data in standard format and allows drilling and subsurface teams to interpret data from real time and historic operations.
The data is taken from the publicly available databank but can also be tailor-made to include the end-user's specific data. The software currently has the offset, experience, GEO and TIME modules, the latter allowing companies to benchmark time spent on historical activity against current operations.
AGR’s software team is also presenting at this week’s OTC Brasil 2015
. Their paper will discuss the challenges and concerns faced by oil and gas professionals regarding volumes of data. The paper will concentrate on skills transfer and knowledge management and why companies should invest time in taking charge of their available data.
The ultimate purpose of both presentations is to offer solutions to the industry for achieving new efficiencies and improve data management process.
LUKOIL Overseas North Shelf joined AGR's client portfolio early this year adding up to VNG Norge, Lundin Norway, Det norske and OMV Norge.
