Qualification requirements

Education:
Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in related discipline.
Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.
 
 
Experience:
At least 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
Significant experience of working within offshore development projects with proven, industry recognized, experience in Subsea equipment systems, including the design, manufacture, testing, commissioning and handover/operation of multi-well projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead a group of professionals through all phases and aspects.  History of completing projects safely and within cost and schedule requirements.
Strong commercial skills and business driver understanding to manage the execution of contracts.
Good communication skills to manage the interfaces between Project teams located in various locations.
Ability to set ambitious goals, high team standards, and to lead a culturally diverse team.  
Good interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills, both internally to the project and with contractors.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian and English.
Strong commitment to the implementation of firm\s safety, environmental and quality philosophies.
Ability to manage the work with minimum direction from the Project Manager.
Job specific requirements
Main function:
Manage, direct and control the design, procurement, manufacture, testing, installation support, commissioning and operations handover of the Subsea Production System to achieve project, corporate and authority requirements and objectives. 
 
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, organize and control the SPS related project work and personnel. 
  • Supervise the activities of the SPS group, set group goals and targets, and coach the team to achieve significant results. Be an active and visible role model, and promote motivation, good communication, and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure that the SPS group is staffed with the required skill sets and knowledge at all sites throughout the project period. Recommend enhancements or changes in team makeup to the Project Manager when necessary.   
  • Responsible for SPS group organization and staffing, establishment of goals and priorities, assignment of work, and professional development of subordinates from FEL-1/FEL-2 through FEL-3 & contract bid, execution and close-out.
  • Be overall accountable for ensuring alignment between the Project and other stakeholders regarding subsea equipment design and functionality.
  • In concert with Project Management and the Supply Chain function, propose contract strategies, direct technical bid evaluations for major contracts, and manage contracts associated with SPS activities.
  • In cooperation with the HSE&Q function, ensure that Company HSE&Q policies and procedures are adhered to in all phases of the work by conducting audits and ensuring group focus in these areas.
  • In cooperation with the Project Controls function, ensure project planning, cost estimating, project risking analysis and reporting activities are carried out in a prudent manner.
  • Manage the work and contractors to ensure that SPS and project-related operational, quality, cost, and schedule targets are achieved.
  • Manage related interfaces between the Project, Well Ops, Operations, Contractors and miscellaneous stakeholder groups in a timely manner. Bring to the attention of Project Manager, and/or appropriate Project functions, relevant issues, recommendations for improvement and implement as agreed.
  • Set the tone for an open and constructive relationship with the SURF contractors and suppliers.
  • Manage the development of appropriate Well Operations/Operations training programs and ensure well documented handover of equipment systems to same.
  • Ensure that group activities and decisions support Project objectives and priorities.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and establish SPS input to the close-out report for the Project.
