Nature controls much of what we have to work with when developing an oil reservoir, in particular fluid properties, gravity and capillary forces.
But we get to control the viscous forces by designing offtake rates and well spacing. The relative strengths of viscous, capillary and gravity forces help to determine the recoveries we can achieve.
Watch the vlog where Mark Cook, AGR's Principal Reservoir Engineer, helps you to understand the consequences of our development choices using graphic images and practical demonstrations, set against a dramatic reservoir outcrop in North East Scotland.
You can also download our cheat sheet
which highlights the most important aspects described in the "Reservoir Dynamic Behaviour" chapter from the Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production
book co-written by Mark.
