Stable and Unstable Displacement in the Field Development Plan

Nature controls much of what we have to work with when developing an oil reservoir, in particular fluid properties, gravity and capillary forces.
But we get to control the viscous forces by designing offtake rates and well spacing. The relative strengths of viscous, capillary and gravity forces help to determine the recoveries we can achieve.
